EXP is taking career discovery to the next level with this year’s virtual GPS Your Future® event!

Note our new date! On Friday, November 5th, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., hundreds of high school students will get to choose their own career exploration adventures after an inspirational keynote address. They will be able to attend any one of six dynamic career discovery panels after they explore an action-packed digital expo hall, and join in sponsor presentations in video meeting rooms, all the while earning points in our ever-popular Passport to Success scavenger hunt — students with the most points can win great prizes.

In 2020, more than 50 prospective employers and 85 volunteers participated in our first-ever virtual event for students from 22 high schools across Southern California. Your company can be a part of this year’s innovative event and help introduce underserved high school youth to future career possibilities in your industry.

For more information about sponsorship, please contact Marilee Potthoff, Director of Development and Marketing, at marilee@expfuture.org or call 562.473.9074.

EXP Wraps Up Summer with a NEW Fuel Your Future Program for Young Adults

A total of 28 young adults registered to spend a week of their summer improving their personal and professional skills through EXP’s Fuel Your Future young adult boot camp in August. Sponsored by Marathon Petroleum Corporation and Prologis, the new high-impact summer boot camp offered a combination of life skills and career readiness workshops to help young adults find their professional strengths, improve their wellbeing, and boost career leadership skills. The 4-day online course culminated at an in-person networking event at Brouwerij West in San Pedro where the young professionals get to apply what they’ve learned to connect with industry professionals.

“Marathon is proud to support the EXP Fuel Your Future Boot Camp program where young adults invested in their career readiness," said Bob Devine, Marathon, Engineering & Major Projects Manager. "The program provided useful information on essential soft skills for success in the workplace, such as the art of negotiation, emotional intelligence, and the importance of mentoring throughout their careers.”
