Career EXPedition: Cal Maritime

WHO CAN ATTEND?

  • 11th-grade students in all EXP-supported pathways.

  • Must be interested in exploring maritime careers and/or attending Cal Maritime for college.

  • This training is physically challenging! You must be in good health, be able to swim, and have no fear of heights, water, or fire.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Take hands-on Personal Survival and Basic Marine Firefighting courses from Cal Maritime instructors to earn industry-recognized certificates.

  • Experience college life by staying in the dorm and attending classes on campus.

  • Gain leadership skills and grow your network.

WHERE & WHEN

  • Cal Poly Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime) in Vallejo, Northern California.

  • Sunday, July 19- Friday, July 24, 2026.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Complete the application by Monday, June 1, 2026, by 12 p.m.

  • Attend the mandatory, virtual parent-student orientation on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 6 p.m.
