WHO CAN ATTEND?
11th-grade students in all EXP-supported pathways.
Must be interested in exploring maritime careers and/or attending Cal Maritime for college.
This training is physically challenging! You must be in good health, be able to swim, and have no fear of heights, water, or fire.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Take hands-on Personal Survival and Basic Marine Firefighting courses from Cal Maritime instructors to earn industry-recognized certificates.
Experience college life by staying in the dorm and attending classes on campus.
Gain leadership skills and grow your network.

Cal Poly Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime) in Vallejo, Northern California.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Complete the application by Monday, June 1, 2026, by 12 p.m.
Attend the mandatory, virtual parent-student orientation on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 6 p.m.

Since 2007, nearly 60 Banning HS and EXP graduates have enrolled at Cal Maritime! More students are heading there this fall!
There is a scholarship fund set up for EXP graduates attending Cal Maritime. All you have to do is ask the financial aid office!
