Produced by EXP, the annual career discovery event showcases high-growth industries and introduces career paths to high school students
Industry registration is now open for EXP's 2019 GPS Your Future career discovery event on Friday, October 25, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Long Beach City College (LAC Campus). It is an ideal opportunity to place your business in front of nearly 800 talented students from EXP-supported schools and career pathways! Throughout the half-day event, students will participate in a career expo, hands-on technology demonstrations, and breakout speaker sessions where industry professionals share their career journeys and inspire the next generation workforce.
Keynote Speaker: Anthony D. Mays
Anthony D. Mays is a software engineer at Google and a tech interview coach. Raised in Compton as a foster kid after suffering physical and sexual abuse, he taught himself how to program computers at age 8 and started his career as an INROADS intern. Perhaps best known for the short BuzzFeed documentary about his journey from Compton to Google, he is a frequent public speaker at schools and other student organizations.

EXP-supported high schools: Barstow, Carson, Gardena, Lawndale, Luezinger (Lawndale), Manuel Dominguez (Compton), Narbonne (Harbor City), Phineas Banning (Wilmington), Rancho Dominguez (Carson) and San Pedro High Schools. Guest schools: Intellectual Virtues Academy (Long Beach).
