We have EXPanded!

In February, we welcomed three talented new staff members to our EXP Team: Oakley Boren, John Harris and Marilee Potthoff. Read more about them below.

In addition to our new staff members, we are also pleased to announce the recent promotions of four outstanding members of EXP’s team!

  • Nicole Martin Huezo is now Director of Programs and Strategic Partnerships

  • Kathy O'Malley is now Grants Manager

Oakley Boren
EXP Marketing Manager

Oakley brings 17 years of marketing communications experience to EXP as our new Marketing Manager. In her role, Oakley is responsible for developing marketing and communications materials, executing our marketing and communications plan, and managing publicity opportunities and social media engagement.

Prior to joining our staff, Oakley got her start with EXP as a Marketing Consultant. Before working with us, she provided her marketing communications expertise to Southern California’s produce industry and served in community management roles for a number of top-tier advertising agencies. Oakley earned a BA in Communications and an MA in Communications Management from USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

John Harris
EXP Development Manager

We also welcomed John Harris to EXP’s Advancement Department in the position of Development Manager. In his new role, John is helping EXP to develop corporate partnerships and expand our reach to new industry sector partners.

John brings to EXP more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, government and pro bono work with non-profits.  John earned his BA in History from the University of the District of Columbia.

Marilee Potthoff
EXP Senior Marketing Manager

In her new role as EXP’s new Senior Marketing Manager, Marilee is responsible for developing and managing EXP’s marketing and communication strategies. Marilee brings to EXP more than 25 years of marketing communications leadership experience.

Marilee’s career background includes directing marketing and communications departments, campaign strategies and outreach programs. She has also managed donor campaign strategies for non-profit organizations in fields of health and human services, medical research and education. Prior to her non-profit career, she managed B2B marketing programs in the electronics engineering, technology equipment manufacturing and travel industries. Marilee has a BA from Antioch University, where she majored in Business.

Robotics Program Kicked Off at Phineas Banning High School

The 2019 Robotics program at Phineas Banning High School kicked off in February. Nearly 80 students are participating in hands-on exploration of robotics concepts and careers by designing, building, and piloting robot projects, thanks to Phillips 66! Check out our photos on Facebook»
