EXP Kicked Off the 2019-2020 Internship Program

It was standing room only on September 20th, when more than 500 parents and students gathered for this year’s Parent-Student Orientation – the official kick-off event of the 2019-2020 EXP Internship Program: Powered by Prologis.

First launched in 2001, the EXP Internship Program is an 11-month long journey for 11th-grade students enrolled at EXP-supported schools throughout Southern California. To complete the program this year, each student will attend a series of career-readiness workshops and a mock (practice) interview in preparation for an employer interview for a chance to earn a 6-week paid summer internship. Last year 153 students completed the full Internship Program, including paid internship experiences with employer hosts in a variety of logistics, maritime and business sectors in Southern California.

The program is made possible this year thanks to Prologis – our lead sponsor for EXP Internship Program, as well as support from the Port of Los Angeles and John Gogian Family Foundation.

An internship can change a life. EXP Internship Program: Powered by Prologis helps 11th-grade students in EXP-supported schools gain experience, unlock doors and build the confidence they need to succeed in school, career and life. You can support the program by hosting a summer intern or fund their scholarships!
Our congratulations go out to all 153 high school students who successfully completed the 11-month EXP Internship Program: Powered by Prologis on August 2, 2019. Thanks to all 71 local area employers from a variety of industries, who provided summer internship experiences for the students this summer, all of our interns received invaluable exposure to career opportunities and industries.
