Together We Can Keep Their Internship Dreams Alive

For high school youth living in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, the chance for opportunities to break out of the poverty cycle is challenging. For so many of our students, EXP is their lifeline to career discovery and opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to access.

It is why we are beaming with pride in the progress of more than 193 underserved eleventh graders who completed EXP’s rigorous Internship Program career-readiness training with flying colors. They are now revved up, hopeful and ready to apply their new skills in a virtual summer internship. But unless we can close our funding gap by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, their dreams of a better life may be dashed. Every additional dollar will help us achieve this critical goal.

"An EXP Internship is important to me because not only will I get the chance to work in a professional environment, but I will also be able to take everything I learned and put into practice and further improve my skills.” – Mario, student, Barstow High School.

“An internship is important for me because it unlocks new opportunities for me to further my education. It also provides a once in a lifetime experience that I will not come across again in my high school career. An internship helps me stand out in my future job applications as well as my college applications!” – Tiffany, student, Banning High School.

“The reason the internship is important for me is because of all the working experience I can gain to better prepare myself for my future career. I will gain a better understanding of a workplace setting as well as strengthen essential soft skills that I can pick up.” – Marisol, student, Carson High School.

Together, right now, we can help them succeed. With so much at stake, we are pulling out all the stops to reach our $20K funding gap TONIGHT. We need to move quickly for our students, our communities, and our future! We are so close to reaching our goal.

With your help, we can do it! If you’ve already given, will you consider giving more before 11:59 p.m. tonight?

It is in taking action together that we can build better lives for the students who need it most. Thank you for your support and commitment to the career futures of our deserving students!
