Announcing the 2023 Carol Rowen 180 Degree Award Honoree and Scholarship Recipients

We are excited to announce America Jasso of San Pedro High School as the recipient of the 2023 Carol Rowen 180 Degree Award! Named after EXP’s founder Carol Rowen, this award goes to a student who has overcome significant challenges to turn their life around in a positive direction while participating in an EXP program.

Nominated by Mr. P.G. Ta’asē, Health & Science Department Chair at San Pedro High School, America has evolved from a shy 9th-grader into a strong advocate for herself. Over the years, as she continues participating in EXP programs, including the EXP Internship Program: Powered by Prologis last summer with Kaiser Permanente, she has grown to become a thoughtful leader among her peers, an effective collaborator outside of her social circles, and an enthusiastic ambassador for EXP programs.

Please join us in celebrating with America' and other scholarship recipients at Oceans of Opportunity on Thursday, April 27, at the Museum of Latin American Art!
